The Aalborg Tower is one of Aalborg's landmarks and at least the tallest. Here you can enjoy the beautiful view of Aalborg in peace and quiet. Take the elevator 55 meters up and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view.

The tower has Northern Europe's longest outdoor elevator, so the trip to the top is an experience in itself. When you finally get up, the beautiful view can be enjoyed ad libitum. And you can conveniently have a bite to eat in the tower's own bistro.

In the bistro, there is room for up to 50 diners, but fear not, there is enough view for everyone. The 360-degree panoramic view from the top of the tower gives you the opportunity to see the busy everyday life of Aalborg in the middle of forest and water, far from stress, hustle and bustle and roaring traffic.

Near Aalborg lies one of Denmark's unique historical monuments, Lindholm Høje. Two landmark historical eras meet here and, due to the northern Jutland climate, have been preserved for posterity.

The area was plagued by sand drift, and around the year 1000 the flying sand completely covered the burial site, whereby stone settings and a freshly plowed field were preserved for the enjoyment of archaeologists and visitors to Lindholm Høje.

Lindholm Høje Museum
Inside the Viking Museum Lindholm Høje you can experience the life of the Vikings in the area. The exhibition is based on the found antiquities, and here you can experience how cattle were kept, fields cultivated, houses built and decorated, and how people lived in everyday life on Lindholm Høje. Among other things, you can experience how people cooked, wove cloth and shop, in addition to all the other daily chores - you can, for example, visit a Viking house or sail a Viking ship.

In the savannah, giraffes wander around together with zebras, kudus and the rare oryx antelopes. The polar bear takes a cooling dip, the red panda has just been served fresh bamboo, and suddenly a mighty roar is heard from the male lion Akash, telling the whole garden that this is his territory. 

In Aalborg Zoo you meet 11 out of the 12 most popular zoo animals, and as the only place in Denmark you can see the Borneo orangutan and the Asiatic lion. Go exploring for the distinctive and lesser-known animals. In the South America house, the sloths crawl freely around the lianas above your head, and in the same place you can get close to armadillos and perhaps see a capybara for the first time.

In addition, you can experience the wild animals up close as they unfold in lifelike surroundings. For example, you can take a walk into the new kangaroo facility, where you can meet the animals up close without a fence between you and them. Come and meet Aalborg Zoo's many wonderful baby animals!

In Aalborg there is shopping for every taste and budget. Lots of small, exciting specialty shops, popular brand stores, supermarkets and department stores and centers in both the center of Aalborg and City South.

Aalborg Shopping Centre
There is a versatile range of specialist shops side by side with several department stores. Here you will find the two large pedestrian streets Bispensgade and Algade as well as a number of smaller streets that house unique specialist shops. In Nørregade you will find everything from handmade jewellery, glass art, unique interiors to clothes out of the ordinary.

Salling Aalborg
In the Salling department store, you will find everything a shopping heart could desire. Each department has a large selection of well-known brands, exclusive designs and novelties for the whole family. On the top floor, a 1,400 square meter city space opens up on the Salling Rooftop with a view of the city and fjord, which you must experience.

Magasin Aalborg
You can also find Magasin Aalborg, which is known for its modern, simple and Scandinavian style and expression, which the store in Aalborg is designed based on. Everything from floors and walls to fixtures, tables, shelves and carrying bags is meticulously designed to fit into the overall aesthetic, and every little hook in the store is specially selected.

Kunsten – Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg is a modern art museum, an experience house and an architectural gem in itself. Created by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in collaboration with his wife Elissa Aalto and the Danish architect Jean-Jacques Baruël. Although the museum has existed since 1972, it still stands out today - not least thanks to the architects' modern thinking and thus the unique architecture.

Art on art
The art's walls and floors are adorned with Danish and international art that ranges from the 20th century to the present day. Here you can experience the permanent collection, consisting of more than 4,000 works, and the changing special exhibitions. All located around the museum's five exhibition halls, which are both above and below ground.  

Brasserie Kunsten
Located on the lower floor, with a beautiful view of the Sculpture Park and furnished with Aalto's own design furniture, you will find the museum's café, Brasserie Kunsten . Here you can both experience exciting flavor combinations from the renowned chef Tina Jacobsen and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, while the day's artistic impression quietly falls into place.
